On October 29th, we sent our thirty-second batch of questions to Hasbro to once again take part in their Star Wars Question and Answer sessions. Today, we've got the answers to our two questions!
1) What happened to the Vintage Collection Yoda that was shown this summer? He was shown with the RotJ wave, but hasn't been listed in any of the case assortments for either the RotJ wave or the AotC wave. Was he postponed into 2011 like Wedge or was he dropped altogether?
** We actually pulled him out of the waves to redo the card art to be reflective of the Senate Battle Yoda from Episode III that we first envisioned. He will find his way back into the line in early '11.
2) Ooh look - Han! We were happy to hear that our favorite made the cut for 2011 Wave 1. Then, we were a bit sad when we saw what we were getting... it's just the recent Death Star Escape Han with a different belt and a medal. Why no leg strap for the holster? Why no upgrade to the torso to give us a screen-accurate buttoned-up shirt? We appreciate the effort to give us a 'new' Han, but we have to admit that we're a little disappointed with the end result.
** Sorry that the end-result did not measure up to what you had hoped to see for this figure. We cannot get to all of the tooling we want to every year, and we felt we could do a great version of Medal Ceremony Han with the tooling we had available.
Hasbro's Derryl DePriest has passed along a note to share with our readers regarding Target's Vintage Collection Collector 9-Pack, which will hit shelves this weekend!
"It's a very exciting time for Star Wars as the extraordinary Target exclusive Vintage
9-pack will be going on sale soon (Nov. 28th). There are two important things to note with this set. First, this set will be more limited than some of our other recent exclusives. Second, Target (and we) are so excited about the Vintage collection overall and these 3-packs that we have decided to keep this "collection within a collection" idea going at Target. Another wave of three 3-packs will be coming in Spring and like these, they follow the Vintage character lineups. We think this an exciting development, and thanks to Target's support, hopefully fans will be treated to even more in this series. Thanks again for the support and be sure to get to Target soon.
Happy Holidays - the Hasbro Star Wars team."
